So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
-Matthew 6:31-33

I cannot express in words just how amazing I think Lisa Bevere is. I am totally drawn to real-as-it-gets typo people, and well she is as real as it gets. Lisa Bevere is totally like that super cool tia (aunt) I never get to see but totally texts you just when you need an “I love you” or “You can do it!” I feel very blessed to have her influence in my life.

Last year I dreamt Lisa and I were riding bikes together ( actually I was riding a bike, she was being gangster on a ninja motorcycle ) and the road we were on was paved and winding. Again I felt like I was in training and this time I was being coached. “Don’t get discouraged…keep moving forward….look up….keep pedaling!” The whole time I felt like I was missing the mark. I’d watch her speed off and I just pedaled along hoping to catch up, and waiting for my upgrade, never happy with the now and consumed with the next.

Please understand that I am an observer. It’s been a good thing at times but sometimes my observing has clogged my vision and led me into quicksand. I’ve spent years focusing and comparing my journey with others and after this dream I felt God say,” what I have for you is different. Everyone is on the same road but everyone’s ride is different and at the end of the day you need to be focused on me, not on anyone or anything around you.” To be honest when I woke up I felt sad and confused, “God, I have no idea what you want from me, but I am so done with chasing the next season. Help me to chase all that you are today.”

It’s amazing how far that fixie has taken me and the scenery I’ve enjoyed along the way. So humbled God saw fit to shake me free from agenda and realigned my vision for His everyday call.

What are you focused on? What do you feel God is training you for?

perspective,
Charise
