Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’? The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman.  “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. Genesis 3 2-5

I read this above passage the other day and the Lord brought these small nuggets to my heart…

1. Stay Aware!
First things first, its a snake and the snake is talking with you! Did Eve not have discernment or notice that it was a snake hollarin’ at her?! Was she not aware of how weird that was? As I pondered this I immediately was reminded how many times I have found myself near or in a situation where I had to make a major decision and instead of walking away I allowed a conversation with someone I would not normally allow to speak into my life have a voice and influence. Be careful who you allow to speak to you in moments where you  find yourself alone and in need of some advice. Be sure that the TRUTH you are rooted in is louder than the FACTS that are tossed your way.

2. Stay Rooted!
I read this morning that…

“We do not live in reaction to darkness; we live in response to God.” – Bill Johnson

Eve totally allowed herself to be swayed and panicked. Panic always leads to an earthly reaction instead of a kingdom response.

UGH!! I am guilty of this.

I feel you, EVE!

Look, I get it, we all fail now and then …

( stops typing and points at myself )

…but if life and REACTING has taught me anything its that those who are truly ROOTED and have MATURED don’t allow core values to be shifted by earthly trials. Its like a Tree. Trees that are rooted aren’t moved my the rain and wind…instead they embrace the refreshing it brings. Don’t give your energy to temporal circumstances — If you find yourself in a situation where you know you are going to react, choose to BE STILL and even if you have to REMAIN SILENT, do just that.  Don’t underestimate the power behind holding your tongue. Restraint shows wisdom and keeps you in the right battle. Kingdom mindsets don’t allow temporal circumstances in your life to make eternal impacts. Stay kingdom minded and don’t do an, “eve” and start worrying about what you DON’T KNOW and FOCUS on what you DO KNOW!

HE is Good

HE is God

HE is Faithful

HE Loves You

HE has plans for you

and Those plans are for Good…

true story,
Chari
